My husband and I recently made a fun trip to NYC, where we were fortunate to see the marvelous Kandinsky exhibit at the Guggenheim (the perfect venue for this show!) and the fascinating Bauhaus exhibit at the MOMA. Each show was the perfect complement to the other.
Speaking of complementary associations, here I am wearing basic black and a red cast (to set two broken fingers) in front of that terrific gray and red Bauhaus introductory sign.
I am a text-based artist. I letter and print in my studio on Bainbridge Island, Washington, and I teach at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. You can reach me at bpgalvani@comcast.net.

Two shows opening this weekend!
This weekend I'll be taking part in two group shows. One is at the Marge Williams Center on Bainbridge Island. The theme for the show is "Wings." My work is represented by the image in the top row second from the left.

Also, this weekend I am part of a group show of printmakers at Fremont Abbey in Seattle. I was invited by fellow printmaker Christina Malm to be part of a fun four-day show featuring the work of several area artists.

Recent show of my large format work
http://www.nwencaustic.com/portfolio-galvani.html Please view pieces from my recent show at the exciting studio gallery Northwest Encaustic in West Seattle. My work showed there during the month of October, 2009. These pieces combine my love for the gesture of writing with my monotype color experiments. My way of working alternates between direct writing on the paper and printing using the press, building layer upon layer of inks, paints, chalk, etc.
